Collaboration, Feedback, Research and Evaluation The SciLMi Hub is instrumental throughout the project and plays a key role in facilitating the integration of meta-scientific literacies into education systems across Europe.Collaboration, Feedback, Research and Evaluation
Many of the global issues our societies face are science-related. Given the amount of misinformation present in the digital age, the ability to critically engage with socio-scientific information is becoming ever more important and has been defined as the third Science Competency in the PISA 2025 Framework.
The aim of the SciLMi Teacher Academy is to equip teachers with the transversal competences, digital skills, and inclusive teaching strategies required to nurture meta-scientific literacy skills in their students.
The SciLMi Framework aims to present a clear definition of what constitutes meta-scientific literacies and break them down into specific subskills. It will explain which teaching methods are most helpful in developing these skills.
We need your input to conduct sound research to design a Framework and Teacher Trainings that are considered practical and helpful across Europe.
The sessions at the Hub Kick-Off will be recorded and analysed to inform our work. They will remain accessible to the SciLMi Hub Members on the password-protected platform Scoocs for the entire project duration. Any information you share in the sessions will therefore be disclosed to your fellow Hub Members, consistent with the hub's purpose as a community-of-practice network.
We will ask you to share, for example, your opinions on teaching practices, educational policies, and pedagogical theories. Based on your teaching experience, we will gather your feedback on the draft versions of some SciLMi Learning Modules to develop a better understanding of how they need to be designed to be used sustainably in classrooms across Europe. We will consider your reflections on teaching practices and professional development programmes to design effective SciLMi BIP and BITs.
The report on "Europe's Preparedness for PISA 2025 Science Competency 3" will summarise our analysis of the data you shared with us.
Any such information that you voluntarily share with us will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and stored securely. Any publications resulting from the project work will ensure that your identity remains confidential.
By registering for the Hub Kick-Off, you indicate that you have read and understood this information, the general part of the Privacy, and as all parts of the Privacy Policy pertaining to the relationship you have with us, and you agree to actively contribute to our project.
Thank you very much!
